The DE circuit breaker is a digital device that connects a START CAPACITOR (which up to 120uF can also be incorporated into the device) to the RUN CAPACITOR during the start-up phase in cases where a high starting torque is required and disconnects it when the voltage on the auxiliary winding reaches the so-called CUT-OFF, a preset and programmed voltage value equal to at least 75% of the working voltage, sufficient to start the motor.
The program ensures that it operates only for the time necessary to start, no more and no less, saving and protecting all components, including the Start Capacitor, and significantly limiting noise and vibrations.
It can withstand high capacitances and currents and, having all solid-state components, it does not require a waiting time between successive starts, except for the minimum time necessary for the start capacitor to discharge (there is a discharge resistor in the circuit to speed up the process). Upon request, the DE can be programmed with a restart function: this means that, whenever the motor slows to a minimum CUT-IN voltage value, upon reaching that value, the DE reconnects the start capacitor and attempts to restart (it is preferable to limit restart attempts to 5). The DE circuit breaker is recommended for very “harsh and stressful” applications (e.g., high capacitances and currents, repeated starts, voltage drops, etc.).
DE 1.0: Version 1.0 features a variable cut-off value (and possible cut-in) based on variations in the supply voltage, allowing for optimal operation even under conditions of variable supply voltages (for example, voltage drops due to very long and poorly sized power cables).
